Simple NYE NOTD

For my last post of the year I bring you my New Years nails. I didn't feel like going all out with an intricate design, I kept them simple and sparkly. I thing we can say that one of the colors of the year was rose gold so I kind of went with that. Since I got this Triple Shine Sally Hansen polish in 320 Dream Sequins I kept the idea of using it for a new years mani in the back of my head and the other day, cleaning out my nail polish drawer, I rediscovered this Covergirl Outlast polish in 225 Perfect Penny. I immediately thought that it would look perfect with Dream Sequins so today I went at it. Originally I though I would only do an accent nail but after doing one nail I loved the combination so much and thought it looked understated enough to go ahead and do the same on all nails. I really think its a perfect mani for those who want that festiveness but aren't so much for that new years more typical loudness. It has that bit of sparkle, but still elegant and muted.

Para mi última entrada este año les traigo my manicura para despedida de año. No tenía gana de hacer un diseño muy complicado así que decidí mantener mis uñas simples y con brillo. Creo que se puede decir que uno de los colores del año fue el "rose gold" y esa fue mi inspiración. Desde que compré este esmalte Triple Shine de Sally Hansen en el color Dream Sequins había mantenido en la parte de atrás de mi cabeza la idea de usarlo para despedida de año. Después de haber redescubierto el esmalte Covergirl Outlast en el color Perfect Penny recientemente rápido pensé que se vería excelente con Dream Sequins. Hoy me senté con esos dos colores y originalmente solo pensé hacer una uña de acento con el brillo pero después de pintar una decidí hacer lo mismo en todas. Creo que la combinación es lo suficientemente festiva pero tenue para poder lucir el brillo en todas las uñas. Es la manicura perfecta para aquellos que quieren ese poco de brillo pero que aún luzca elegante.

Snowflakes NOTD

Happy Christmas Eve! I wanted to bring you a quick nail post today before it was too late. This is another, easier, Christmas mani.

Feliz Víspera de Navidad! Quería traerles rápidamente una manicura de Navidad un poco mas sencilla antes de que se me hiciera muy tarde.

I wanted to paint my nails again but had no idea what I wanted to do, however Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure polish in Barracuda caught my eye and I went from there. After applying that beautiful color I thought, "What more appropriate than to go ahead and make it a snowy manicure?", so I decided to apply over all the nails Color Club's Snowflake. Because that wasn't enough I went ahead and drew on some snowflakes with Bettina's MATTE on my ring and thumb nails. For a picture tutorial on how to create the snowflakes you can check out Nails World tutorial which is basically the same thing I did. I love how it turned out, it looks girly and delicate and most of all sparkly and festive! I hope you enjoyed and you all have a nice Christmas Eve and day with your loved ones.

Quería pintar mis uñas de nuevo pero no tenía ni idea de lo que quería hacer, sin embargo, el esmalte Barracuda de Sally Hansen Complete Manicure me llamó la atención y partí de ahí. Después de aplicar ese color tan bonito pensé, qué mas apropiado que una manicura que pareciera nieve? Así que decidí aplicar encima de el color Snowflake de Color Club. Como eso no fue suficiente para mi dibujé unos copos de nieve en mi dedo anular y pulgar. Para un tutorial de como hice los copos pueden visitar Nails World que muestra detalladamente el mismo procedimiento que use. Me encanta como quedaron, se ve delicado, brilloso y festivo. I'm Feeling Joly! NOTD

I told you I was committed to being back! I'm in a festive mood so I decided to express myself on my nails. I wanted to do something different than candy cane on all my nails, which I really really love but did not want to get sucked into again. I went on the web and searched for Christmas nails and took a bit of everything and made it my own. I knew I wanted something different on every nail but that they still looked like they went together. I kinda cheated and repeated a design from last year but switched it up a bit. I'll include the tutorial for the tree nails here. I reeeeeally love how these turned out and I want them to last all through Christmas. I've gotten tons of compliments on them.

Les dije que estaba comprometida a volver! Estoy en un "mood" festivo y decidí expresarme en la uñas. Quería hacer algo diferente que no fuera bastones de menta en todas las uñas, que realmente me encanta pero no quería volver a hacerlo. Busqué en la web sobre uñas navideñas y tomé un poquito de cada cosa y las convertí en mías. Sabía que quería algo diferente en cada uña pero que fueran cohesivas entre si. Hice un poco de trampa usando un diseño que hice las navidades pasadas pero cambie un poco. Les incluiré el tutorial para las uñas del árbol aquí. Me encanta como quedaron y quisiera que me duraran todas las navidades. He recibido muchos halagos de ellas.

NOTD - Hard Candy "Black Tie Optional"

Hi guys! I know I've been MIA an I'm still not sure when I'm making my full comeback onto the blogger world, but I recently got this nail polish and I just had to show you! Ignore the horrible state of my cuticles and nails, I've been trying to take better care of them but they are being extremely uncooperative. I have on today Hard Candy's Black Tie Optional over Revlon's Stormy. I love the combination of these two. Black TIe Optional has different shaped and sized black and white confetti and reminds me of a few indie polishes I've seen around. If indie polishes are out of your reach Hard Candy's new polish line has a few that could really interest you.

Hola!!! Se que he estado un poco desaparecida y todavía no se cuándo regrese por completo al mundo de blogger pero recientemente obtuve este esmalte y tenía que enseñarles! Ignoren el mal estado de mis cutículas y uñas, estoy tratando de cuidarlas más pero no están cooperando. Hoy llevo en mis uñas Black Tie Optional de Hard Candy sobre Stormy de Revlon. Me fascina la combinación. Black Tie Optional tiene diferentes tamaños y formas de escarcha en blanco y negro y me acuerda a algunos esmaltes "indie" que he visto por ahí. Si te interesan algunos esmaltes "indie" y están fuera de tu alcance deberías hecharle un ojo a la nueva línea de esmaltes de Hard Candy.

NOTD - Bettina Tulipani

As you already know one of my favorite brands is Bettina. This is a color I was sent from the company not too long ago and I have gravitated a lot to lately. It is the perfect pink, bright but not to much, very wearable and no overpowering. These are pictures takes on the second day and you can see they haven't shipped a bit.

Como ya deben saber una de mis marcas favoritas de esmalte es Bettina. Este es un colo que me envió la compañía hace un tiempito y que me ha llamado mucho la atención últimamente. Es el rosa perfecto, brillante, pero no demasiado, y delicado. Estas fotos son del día después de aplicarlo y como pueden ver ninguna falla todavía.

I will be hosting a 100 follower giveaway, which will start tomorrow (Jan 12 - Feb 21), and I will be giving a brand new bottle of this color away along with some other goodies. It's funny because I only realized I had bought it for the giveaway after I had painted my nails with my own bottle and was taking the pictures for the giveaway. Proof that the color has really caught my eye.

NOTD - Orly's Star Spangled

Hi hi hi! :D I have for you today my nails of the day. I don't wear this color much but I still think it's one of the prettiest polishes I own. I usually bust it out for festive occasions and christmas, the season when red is always in style, is the perfect time to wear it. The color is Orly's Star Spangled. This color is very unique because it can look almost as dark as oxblood when there isn't much light but when it's out in the sunlight it shows a beautiful vibrant red, not to mention its shock-full of very fine glitters.

Hola hola! Tengo para ustedes hoy mis uñas del día. No utilizo mucho este color pero como quiera pienso que es unos de los esmaltes mas lindos que tengo. Usualmente solo lo utilizo para ocaciones festivas y la navidad, le época en la cual el rojo siempre está de moda, es un tiempo perecto para utilizarlo. El color es Star Spangled de Orly. Este color para mi es único porque cuando no hay mucha luz puede lucir como un color vino oscuro pero cuando hay mucha luz luce como un rojo muy brillante, sin mencionar que está repleto de brillos muy finos.

As always with Orly the application is beautiful and even though it has so many glitter it applies as any regular creme polish would. It doesn't fell gritty to the touch and is very pigmented.

Oh Christmas Tree...Oh Christmas Tree...

Christmas is only a week away! and I can't believe that I still hadn't done a Christmas inspired mani. So here it is! My inspiration was right out of the christmas tree, from the literal tree, to the present, to the candy cane decorations. Hope you enjoy!

La Navidad esta a solo una semana! y no puedo creer que no había hecho una manicura navideña. Así que aquí esta! Mi inspiración salió directo del árbol de navidad, desde literalmente el árbol, hasta los regalos y la decoraciones como el bastón de menta. Espero les guste!

What I used /  Lo que utilicé:
1. Stripping Brush / Brocha de hacer Lineas
2. Tape /  Cinta adhesiva
3. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 485 Golden-I (Dorado)
4. Sinful Colors 101 Snow Me White (Blanco)
5. Bettina Nail Enamel in Chic (Red/Rojo)
6. Orly Lucky Duck (Green/Verde)
7. Orly Sweet Peacock (Blue/Azul)

Step 1 - Paint you nails their respective base colors. Paint all your nails white except your thumb and ring finger which you will paint gold.
Step 2 - The Tree

• Tape your nails like shown in the picture.
• After taping paint the nail green.
• Paint over the green with a multicolor glitter.
• Remove the tape.
• Place a star on top of the tree. You could also do a drop of red polish if you don't have a star.

Step 3. The present

• Create a blue box.
• Create the ribbons on the box and create two dots on top of the box for the bow.
• In the middle of the two dots on top of the present create two dots to finish the bow.

Step 4. Free-hand the stripes for the candy cane nails. The lines don't have to all be identical or perfectly straight. 

Step 5 - Top Coat it!

Paso 1 - Pinta tus uñas el color de base respectivo. Pintalas blancas excepto el pulgar y el anular que pintarás dorado.
Paso 2 - El Árbol

• Coloca la cinta adhesiva en tu dedo anular como en la foto.
• Al colocar la cinta pinta la uña verde.
• Añade algún brillo multi-color sobre el verde.
• Remueve la cinta adhesiva.
• Coloca una estrella en la punta del árbol. Si no tienes una estrella puedes colocar un punto rojo.

Paso 3. El Regalo

• Crea una caja azul.
• Pinta las cintas del regalo en la caja azul y las dos orejitas encima del regalo que serán el lazo.
• En el centro de las orejas pinta unos puntos dorados para terminar el lazo.

Paso 4. Crea las líneas del bastón de menta con la brocha. No tienen que estar perfectamente derechas o tienen que ser todas idénticas. 

Paso 5 - Aplica la capa final!

Pink & Black Sexy Nails

OMAGOD! Finals are over!...which means my blog hiatus can finally be over!...which means I can finally hit play on all those post ideas in my brain queue! YAY!!!

I'll start removing items from that queue right now with a quick nails post. I wanted to show you guys this one as soon as a finished it and made myself not post any pictures on Instagram just because I thought this look deserved its own full post. I had a party a week back and was wearing a simple black dress that I decided to accessorize with how pink accents so I went ahead and did the same for my nails.

Empiezo a remover de la lista esta entrada de un diseño que me hice hace unas dos semanas y quería enseñarles tan pronto lo termine. Me obligue a no "postear" fotos en ningún otro lugar porque estoy convencida que este diseño se merece una entrada para si solo. Tuve una fiesta hace como dos semanas y utilicé un traje negro que accesorizé (eso es una palabra? jaja) con toques rosas y repetí lo mismo en mis uñas.

Frankenstein and Ghost Nails

Okay okay, I know I'm late with this so I'm putting my last two designs all in one post to get this to you guys before Halloween. I hope you like this last installments and let me know if you try any of them out.

Lo sé que estoy tarde con estos diseños así que pondré mis últimos dos diseños en esta misma entrada para que los puedan tener antes de la noche de brujas. Espero que les gusten y me dejan saber si intentan alguno.



Frankenstein:

Step 1 - Base Coat
Step 2 - Paint your nail a base color of green.
Step 3 - With a dotting tool create the hair of your frankenstein.
Step 4 - Create a two slightly arched lines at the middle of the nail that join in the middle forming one line.
Step 5 - Create a shorter line on top of the last line created and eyes below.
Step 6 - Create two white dots to finish the eyes.
Step 7 - Top Coat it!

Vampire Nails

Today's quick post is instalment 3 of my halloween series. I know vampires are supposed to be scary and this is halloween but I think this is one adorable vampire.

En la entrada rápidad de hoy les presentó la parte tres de mi serie para la noche de brujas. Se que los vampiros deben dar miedo y que es "halloween" pero para mi este es un vampiro adorable.

From Left to Right:
1. Bettina in Art Deco Onix

What I used / Lo que utilizé:
1. Dotting Tool / Punta de un lápiz (para crear los puntos)
2. Black Polish / Esmalte negro
3. White Polish / Esmalte blanco
4. Red Polish /  Esmalte rojo
5. Striping tool/ Brocha para hacer líneas

Step 1 -  Base Coat
Step 2 - Paint your nails a white base color for the vampires skin
Step 3 - One third of the nails away from your cuticle create two black arches that meet in the middle and fill in with black for the hair.
Step 4 - Using a dotting tool create the eyes.
Step 5 - With the striping tool draw on the eyebrows and the mouth almost at the bottom of the nail.
Step 6 - Use the red polish to create some bloody teeth.
Step 7 - Top Coat it!

Paso 5 - Con la brocha para crear lineas crea la cejas y la boca casi al final de la uña.
Paso 6 - Toma el esmalte rojo y crea los dientes sangrientos.
Paso 7 - Aplica la capa final.

And there you go! One spooky-ish adorable little vampire.

Season of the Witch Nails

I present to you today part two of my halloween series, the Witch. This may be the most complicated of  them all and it's still pretty easy. I hope you enjoy!

Les presento la parte dos de mi serie de noche de brujas, La Bruja. Este probablemente es el mas complicado de los diseños y aun sigue siendo bastante simple. Espero que les guste.

From Left to Right / De Izquierda a Derecha:
1. Bettina in Orchidea
2. Bettina in Art Deco Onix
3. Sinful Colors in Snow Me White
4. Sinful Colors in Let's Talk
5. Bettina in Celebrate

What I used / Lo que utilizé:
1. Dotting Tool / Punta de un lápiz (para crear los puntos)
2. Purple Polish / Esmalte violeta
3. Black Polish / Esmalte negro
4. Gold Polish / Esmalte dorado
5. White Polish / Esmalte blanco
6. Light Green Polish /  Esmalte verde claro

Step 1 -  Base Coat
Step 2 - Paint your nail a light green base color which will be your witch's skin.
Step 3 - Paint the third of your nail closest to your cuticle purple for the hat.
Step 4 - Use a dotting tool to paint your witches hair where the hat meets the green.
Step 5 - Draw a black line from one side of your nail to the other which will be the belt on the hat.
Step 6 - Draw to black dots for eyes.
Step 7 - Make the buckle on the belt with your gold color.
Step 8 - Finish off the eyes with two white dots in the middle.
Step 9 - Top Coat it!

Paso 6 - Dibuja dos puntos negros que serán los ojos.

Paso 8 - Termina los ojos con un punto blanco en el centro.
Paso 9 - Aplica la capa final.

As you can see it's pretty simple and perfect for halloween!

Halloween Nails Part 1 (Mummy)

As the title implies this look will be one of five nail designs I have decided to make as a little halloween series, seeing as it is just around the corner. My plan is to post one per day for the next five days (but don't quote me on that) or at least I will do my best to do so. These are five simple designs that just scream halloween and ever if you are not planning on getting all dressed up you can go small and costume-ize just your nails.

Como indica el título este diseño es solo uno de cinco diseños que formaran mi serie de uñas para la noche de brujas (halloween) ya que esta se aproxima rápidamente. Mi plan es tener una entrada por día por los próximos cinco días, o por lo menos intentar ponerla. Solo serán cinco diseños sencillos que gritan halloween y aunque no tengas planes de vestirte, tal vez te gustaría por lo menos disfrazar tus uñas.

Today I will show you how to create an awesome and very simple mummy design.

Hoy les enseñaré como crear este diseño sencillo de momia.

From Left to Right:
1. Bettina in Art Deco Onix
2. Sinful Colors Snow Me White
3. Bettina in Chic

What I used / Lo que utilizé:
- Striping brush / Brocha de hacer lineas
- Dotting tool (I used the point of a pencil) / Herramienta de hacer puntos (utilizé la punta de un lápiz)
- White Polish / Esmalte Blanco
- Black Polish / Esmalte Negro
- Red Polish / Esmalte Rojo

Step 1- Base Coat
Step 2 - Paint your nails a base color of white.
Step 3 - Create three major lines running from one side of your nail to the other. Make them crooked (never perfect!) and make the one where the eyes will be thicker towards the middle.
Step 4 - Create smaller line that join to any of the three major lines. (Take the picture as an example)
Step 5 - Take your dotting tool and create two white eyes on the middle of your thicker black line.
Step 6 - Create two red dots on the center of your white eyes.
Step 7 - Top Coat!

Paso 1 - Base
Paso 2 - Aplica un color base de blanco.
Paso 3 - Crea tres lineas mayores que corran de un lado de tu uña a otro (horizontalmente). Hazlas viradas (nunca perfectas!) y haz la que llevará los ojos mas gruesa que las demás.
Paso 4 - Crea lineas más pequeñas que unan en algún punto con cualquiera de las tres mayores. (Utiliza la foto como ejemplo)
Paso 5 - Utiliza tu herramienta para hacer puntos para crear los dos ojos con esmalte blanco en la linea mas gruesa.
Paso 6 - Crea dos puntos rojos en el centro de los ojos que ya creaste.
Paso 7 - Capa final!

Violet Breeze Nails

Excuse the messiness! / Disculpen que no pude limpiarlas!

I forgot how college sucks all my time away. This was my first full week back at college since our first day was last wednesday and between all the work, cooking, band practice and working out I have found it a bit hard to find time for anything else. Since I have been short on time I wanted to try out something easy to do on my nails and decided for this technique I saw in Lindsey's Neverland Nail Blog. It is a fan brush gradient and she has a complete step-by-step over on her blog. I hope you like my take on it.

Se me olvidaba como la universidad me quita todo el tiempo. Esta fue mi primera semana completa de vuelta a la uni ya que la semana pasada empezamos miércoles y entre todo el trabajo, cocinar, práctica de banda y los ejercicios no he logrado encontrar mucho tiempo para algo mas. Como no he tenido mucho tiempo quise hacer algo fácil en mis uñas y me decidí en utilizar esta técnica que vi en el blog Neverland Nail de Lindsey. Es una técnica utilizando una brocha de abanico y en su blog pueden encontrar un tutorial paso a paso. Espero que les guste mi interpretación de esta técnica.

Celebration Time Nails

Here's a quick kind of sucky post with a sucky picture. I've been sporting these nails for about three days and wanted you guys to have a look. Unfortunately the only picture I was able to take before they chipped on me was with my phone camera and it pretty much sucks, but I decided to post it anyway. I used Revlon's Fiery as a red base coat and topped my thumb and ring finger with Milani's Gems. I love how this last polish looks like confetti. These nails scream "Celebration Time" to me.

Aquí les dejo una entrada media porquería con una foto bastante porquería. Llevo alrededor de tres días con este esmalte y quería que lo vieran. Desafortunadamente la única foto que le pude tomar antes de que se dañaran fue con mi teléfono y en realidad quedó bastante mal, pero me decidí mostrarla como quiera. Utilizé una el esmalte de Revlon, Fiery, como base roja y sobre eso coloqué el esmalte Gems de Milani en mi pulgar y dedo anular. Me encanta que este último esmalte se ve como confetti. Estás uñas para mi gritan "Tiempo de Celebración".

Silver Oceans Mani

I've had this mani on my mind for about a week, since I got this Revlon polish in 240 Ocean. When I got home and saw it next to Revlon's 860 Metallic this idea just came to me. I have been so busy I hadn't been able to do it but as soon as had a break this was the first thing I did. It is a really simple mani but I really really like the way it looks. Hope you do to!

He tenido esta idea para una manicura por como una semana, desde que obtuve este esmalte de Revlon en 240 Ocean. Cuando llegue a mi casa y vi el color al lado de el esmalte Revlon en 860 Metallic esta idea solo vino a mi cabeza. He estado tan ocupada que no había podido llevarla a cabo pero tan pronto tuve la oportunidad esto fue lo primero que hice. Es una manicura muy simple de hacer y me gusta mucho como luce. Espero que a ustedes también les guste!

What you'll need / Lo que necesitaras:
1. Scissors / Tijeras
2. Scotch Tape / Cinta Adhesiva
3. Any two colors / Dos esmaltes de tu gusto

Step 1 - Apply a base coat.
Step 2 - Paint your nails a base color and wait till dry. I used Revlon's Ocean.
Step 3 - Grab a piece of tape and cut a Zig Zag pattern on it. You can use a scissor that cuts in zigzag to make this even easier. Do this until you have ten pieces.
Step 4 - Arrange the pieces of tape on your fingernails as you wish.
Step 5 - Paint the area left uncovered by the tape a color that contrasts your base color. I used Revlon's Metallic
Step 6 - Top coat it.

Paso 1 - Aplique una base.
Paso 2 -Pinte sus uñas un color base y espere a que seque. Yo utilicé Ocean de Revlon.
Paso 3 - Crea patrones de zigzag en 10 pedazos de cinta adhesiva. Puede utilizar una tijera que corte en zigzag automáticamente para hacerlo aun más fácil.
Paso 4 - Coloque los pedazos de cinta en sus uñas como desee.
Paso 5 - Pinte las áreas descubiertas por la cinta de un color contrastante. Yo utilicé Metallic de Revlon.
Paso 6 - Aplique una capa final.

Scandalous Zebra Nails

I present to you yesterday's late night mani. I love how it turned out even though it got a little smushed (not a word? :P) while I was sleeping. I got Revlon's Scandalous about two weeks ago and was so excited to try it out! The zebra base color looks more blue than purple but I could not manage to take a photo were it appeared true to color. But oh well!, no more words and on to pictures!

Les presento mi última manicura creada ayer en la noche! Me encanta como luce aunque se aplastó un poco mientras dormía. Hace como dos semanas compré este esmalte Scandalous de Revlon y estaba desesperada por utilizarlo! El color base de las uñas con diseño de zebra se ve mas azul que violeta pero no logré tomar una foto donde luciera como luce en persona. Pero que mas dá!, no mas palabras y más fotos!

I'm so sad that this will have to come off tomorrow since I have a cousin's wedding to attend and I don't find it wedding appropriate, but I think I love it so much I'll just do it all over again!

NOTD - Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night

I recently picked up three nail polishes of Fergie's new Wet N Wild collection and I was very excited to try them out. I decided to start with Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night because it is the first one that caught my eye, it is a combination of smaller black glitter and bigger gold glitters.

Recientemente pude comprar tres esmaltes de la nueva línea de Fergie de Wet N Wild y estoy loca por utilizarlos. Decidí utilizar primero Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night porque es el primero que me llamó la atención cuando escogía cuales llevarme en la tienda. Este esmalte es una combinación de brillos más pequeños negros y brillos más grandes dorados.

From Left to Right / De Izquierda a Derecha:
1. Wet N Wild's Fergie in Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night
2. Wet n Wild's Megalast in Under Your Spell
3. Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Golden-I

I used Wet N Wild's Under your spell which is a pretty maroon color and for the accent nail Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in Golden-I. I topped them all of with two thin coats of Tonight's Gonna be a Good night. I'm can't wait to try out this Fergie polish on its own opaquely, it should look really nice for a pure glitter accent nail.

Utilizé Under Your Spell de Wet N Wild como color base y en la uña del dedo anular utilizé Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear en Golden-I.  Por último añadí dos capas finas de Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night sobre todas las uñas. No puedo esperar a utilizar este esmalte solo y opaca, debería verse muy bien como una uña de acento de puro brillo.
