New Stuff!

Ok, so for my first post back I'm going to do kind of like a haul, but not really because I've gotten these things during a long period of time. It's more of a my most recent new things. These are things I'm still trying out and you'll probably see a few of them in review post soon.

Para mi primera entrada de vuelta les traigo como un "haul" pero en realidad no, simplemente son cosas nuevas que he acumulado por un poco de tiempo. Son cosas que todavía estoy probando y de las cuales probablemente vean reseñas pronto.

The polishes I got in one trip to Walgreens. I had been on the hunt for a while for a pretty, neutral, off-white color and as soon as I spotted Loreal's Walk on the Beach #300 I couldn't not get it. I was only going to purchase that polish but as I was going to pay I saw that near the register they had all these glittery polishes on sale. I don't quite remember how much they were but they were cheap. The two colours I got are Triple Shine from Sally Hansen in Dream Sequins and Fanta-sea.

Los esmaltes los compré en un solo viaje a Walgreens. Hace un tiempo estaba en la búsqueda de un color neutral, blancuzco y bonito, tan pronto vi este color de Loreal en #300 Walk on the Beach no podía no comprarlo. Solo iba a comprar éste pero cuando me acerco a la caja veo estos esmaltes bellos y brillosos en especial. No recuerdo bien el precio pero compré estos dos Sally Hansen Triple Shine en Dream Sequins y Fanta-sea.

I had been looking for a clarifying shampoo for a while, I tend to use dry-shampoo in my hair at least twice a week and I always feel like I have "gunk" building up on my scalp. It was between this Panteen Clarifying Shampoo one and the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo, which I've also heard is good, but this one was the only one I could find and I only found it after a while of looking. I finally found it at my supermarket and so far so good. I hope to have a review on this soon.

Estuve buscando un champú clarificante por un tiempo y yo suelo usar un "dry-shampoo" al menos dos veces en semana y siempre siento que se me acumulan residuos en el pelo. Estaba entre el Pantene Clarifying Champú y el Neutrogena Anti-Residue Champú que también he escuchado que es bueno pero este fue el único que pude encontrar y solo lo encontré después de una intensa búsqueda. Finalmente, lo encontré en el supermercado y espero tener una reseña pronto.

As you can see I'm a little bit lipstick crazy, I don't think I'll ever have enough lipsticks. I got both Loreal ones on a buy one get one half off. The pink one is in Magenta Haze #185 and the red one, which I thought was perfect for the holiday season  is True Red #315. These lipsticks are pretty pigmented and very hydrating, although they are not the best with staying power.

Como pueden ver estoy un poco loca con los pintalabios, no creo que alguna vez tenga demasiados. Ambos los de Loreal los compré en especial de compra uno y el otro a mitad de precio. El rosa es en el color 185 Magenta Haze y el rojo, perfecto para las navidades, en 315 True Red. Estos pintalabios son bien pigmentados e hidratantes aunque no son los mejores con la duración.

Lately I've been obsessed with vampy colors for this holiday season.  Revlon's Black Cherry #477 is beautiful, shiny, pigmented and leaves a bit of stain on the lips as it fades. It's a little hard to wear but can be worn lightly as a stain and built up to the intensity desired. Wet-n-Wild's Cherry Bomb (918D) is a good, cheaper alternative to Revlon's Black Cherry but is a bit more red and leans more to the matte side. If you want a dark vampy color that's a bit more wearable, you can go with the Maybelline Color Sensational The Elixir Lip Color in 045 Amethyst Potion. This lip color is a very pigmented lip gloss, the reviews on this are hit and miss, but as for me I really like it.

Últimamente he estado obsesionada con colores oscuros para este tiempo de navidades. El color 477 Black Cherry de Revlon es hermoso, pigmentado, brilloso y tiñe los labios al gastarse. Es un poco difícil de usar pero se puede usar con una mano ligera e ir aumentando la intensidad hasta que se llegue a la deseada. Cherry Bomb (918D) de Wet-n-Wild es una buena alternativa a el de Revlon pero es un poco mas rojo y tienda a ser mas matte. Si deseas un color oscuro aún mas apto para la vida diaria puedes optar por el Color Sensational The Elixir Lip Color en 045 Amethyst Potion. Este color es un gloss bien pigmentado y las reseñas por ahí están entre si y no pero por lo menos a mi me gusta bastante.

And to finish up, I got the elf Contour eye brush from the Studio line. I got it to replace another elf brush that my dog destroyed and is pretty similar but is from the regular line. I haven't tried it out yet but I'm sure I'll enjoy it just as I did the last one. These are the things that I have been trying out lately, if you want reviews on anything please let me know. Para terminar, compré la brocha de elf Contour del Studio Line. Lo compré para reemplazar otra brocha de elf que mi perra destruyó y es bastante similar de su línea regular. My 2012 Favorites! (ONE LOOONG POST!!)

Now that the year is almost through I want to share with you, my wonderful readers, my beauty favorites of 2012. The way I went about choosing these was to just pick the products I used the most for the year, those that never left my daily beauty bag. It was hard because I recently got some new products that I really love but I figured that since I got them not so long ago I would save them for next year's favorites.

Ahora que el año está por terminar quiero compartir con ustedes, mis hermosos seguidores, mis favoritos de belleza para el 2012. La forma que los escogí fue pensando en los productos que utilicé más mas durante el año, esos productos que nunca salieron de mi bolsa de maquillajes. Fue un poco difícil porque recientemente adquirí unos productos que me encantan pero como no fue hace mucho tiempo pensé que sería mejor salvarlos para los favoritos del próximo año.

My favorite face products / Mis productos favoritos de la cara:

• Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder - The bronzer side of this duo was my favorite for this year. It is great for contouring and at just $3 dollars is is a real bargain.
• Maybelline Dream Fresh Beauty Balm in Medium - I wore this nearly everyday this year since I got it. It was perfect for evening my skin and really light for everyday use.
• Revlon ColorStay in 330 Natural Tan - This in my go to foundation for when I'm going out and want my face looking flawless.
• Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in 003 Light Medium - It's the creamiest concealer I've tried so far. I use this to cover blemishes or discoloration on my face.
• Benefit Erase Paste in No.2 Medium - This is the product that I have had the longest and that I'm sure will keep being my favorite for a good long while since it will probably last me forever. Great brightening concealer for under the eyes!
• Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in 30 Candy Coral - This is blush is what was on my cheeks basically everyday during this last semester. I can just apply it with my fingers and it gives me a really natural glowy flush.
• Walgreens Brand Oil Absorbing Sheets (Clean&Clear works also) - I carry this around everywhere in my bag and it is the best way to remove shine from my face without having to apply more makeup on.

• Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder - La parte de bronceador es mi favorita del año. Es muy buena para darle forma a la cara y por solo $3 es una baratija.

• Revlon ColorStay in 330 Natural Tan - Este es mi base favorita para cuando voy a salir y quiero que mi cara luzca perfecta.
• Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in 003 Light Medium - Este es el corrector más cremoso que yo he utilizado hasta ahora. Lo uso para cubrir desperfectos en la cara.
• Benefit Erase Paste in No.2 Medium - Este es el producto que he tenido por más tiempo y se que seguirá siento de mis favoritos por mucho mas tiempo ya que probablemente me va a durar mucho tiempo mas. Es excelente para iluminar mis la parte de abajo de mis ojos!
• Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in 30 Candy Coral - Este rubor es lo que llevé en mi cara casi todos los días de mi semestre. Puedo solo aplicarlo con mis dedos y luce natural y resplandeciente.
• Walgreens Brand Oil Absorbing Sheets (Clean&Clear works also) - Llevo esto conmigo casi todos los días en mi bolso y es la mejor manera de remover el aceite de mi cara sin tener que aplicar más maquillaje.

• EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint - I love the Eos Lip balms in general but the one in sweet mint is definitely my favorite. I apply it every night before going to sleep and in the morning.
• Revlon Lip Butter in 010 Raspberry Pie - I love this color because I can sheer it out for everyday use or pack it on for a more bold perfect raspberry color.
• Loreal Colour Riche in 800 Fairest Nude - I had to search a lot to find the perfect nude color for me but when I decided to try out this cult favorite I didn't have to search anymore. This is the perfect nude color for me because it has a bit of pink so it doesn't wash me out.
• Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 455 Mauve-Ulous - I only started wearing this when fall came around and I was scared to try it at first but once I did I quickly fell in love with it. It was one of the huge trends this year and I'm glad I went for it too.
• Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige - The NYX formula is a great one and this color is perfect and pigmented enough that it can be worn on its own or how I like to wear it the most is on top of Loreal's Fairest Nude.

• EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint - Me encanta los bálsamos de Eos en general pero este en sweet mint es mi favorito. Lo aplico a mis labios cada noche antes de acostarme y todas las mañanas.
• Revlon Lip Butter in 010 Raspberry Pie - Me encanta este color porque lo puedo utilizar un poco transparente para uso diario o puedo aplicarlo mas abundantemente para un color mas atrevido.
• Loreal Colour Riche in 800 Fairest Nude - Tuve que buscar bastante para encontrar el color carne perfecto para mi pero cuando decidí intentar este color tan popular se acabó mis búsqueda. Es el colo carne perfecto para mi porque tiene un poco de rosa que no me hace ver pálida.
• Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in 455 Mauve-Ulous - Solo empezé a usar ese color cuando llegó el otoño y al principio le tenía un poco de miedo al principio pero cuando finalmente lo usé me encantó. Esto fue una moda de el año y me alegra que me uní a ella.
• Nyx Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige - La fórmula de estos brillos es muy buena y este color es perfecto para usarlo solo o como yo prefiero sobre el lapiz labial de Loreal Fairest Nude.

My favorite eye products / Mis productos favoritos para los ojos:

• Wet N Wild color icon trio in Walking on Eggshells - The lid color in this palette is my go to everyday shadow. I sweep this color over my lid and it instantly brings light to my face.
• Maybelline Expert Wear Quad in Chai Latte - This is my go to palette when I don't really wanna think about what to do on my eyes. It gives the most perfect golden-smokey look and and the brown is a perfect everyday crease color for me.
• Maybelline Color Tattoo in 25 Bad to the Bronze and 100 Barely Beige - I can't tell you how obsessed I am with these color tattoos. I want to own every color but these are my favorites so far.
• Maybelline MasterShape Brow Pencil in Soft Brown - I used to fill in my brows with eyeshadow  but this pencil is as easy as it gets to fill them in and since it is waxy it also works at keeping them in place.
• Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black - This liquid eyeliner has lasted me the longest time. Its pitch black and easy to apply.

• Wet N Wild color icon trio in Walking on Eggshells - El color para el párpado de esta paleta es mi color de uso diario. Lo aplico con el dedo sobre mi párpado e ilumina mi cara instantáneamente.
• Maybelline Expert Wear Quad in Chai Latte - Esta es mi paleta favorita cuando no quiero pensar en lo que voy a hacer. Puedes crear un "look" dorado y el marrón es el color perfecto para el pliegue de mi párpado.
• Maybelline Color Tattoo in 25 Bad to the Bronze and 100 Barely Beige - No les puedo decir lo obsesionada que estoy con estos color tattos. Quiero tenerlos en todos los colores pero estos son mi favoritos hasta ahora.
• Maybelline MasterShape Brow Pencil in Soft Brown - Solía rellenar mis cejas con sombra pero este lápiz es lo mas fácil para rellenarlos y como tiene la textura de cera los mantiene en su sitio también.
• Maybelline Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black - Este delineador líquido me ha durado mucho tiempo. Es muy negro y fácil de aplicar.

I also wanted to include my favorite brush in my collection, which would be my Sigma F80 flat top kabuki. It is the only brush I use to apply my foundation and it makes my face look flawless every time.

Fall Polish Picks

Fall is well on it's way and I am already getting into a fall colors mood. I though I could share with you guys my fall polish picks. These are the colors that for me embody fall and the colors I tend to gravitate too when this season comes around.

El otoño esta casi en llegar y ya yo estoy en el humor de utilizar colores de otoño. Pensé que podría compartir con ustedes los colores que para mi me hacen pensar en otoño y los colores a los cuales yo suelo gravitar cuando llega esa temporada.

1. Milani's Golden Goddess is a beautiful metallic coppery-gold making it great for fall because it is on the warm side of gold and we can all agree that fall comes in line with warmer colors.

2. Revlon - 470 Amber Ablaze (this is what I have on my nails now) is a bronze color with extremely fine gold shimmer, it is a foil finish.

3. Avon Real Red, for me a deeper red color is a must have for fall. Red is always a statement.

4. Bettina 116 is a great neutral color that still says fall. It is an opaque nude in a cream finish.

1. Revlon 820 Stormy is a beautiful taupey-gray which makes me look at my nails and smile every time I apply it, it is one of my favorites.

2. Bettina 197 is a creamy gray with the slightest hint of blue. Everyone should have a gray like this in their collection.

3. Orly in Naughty is a very unique color which always seems to catch the eye. It might look black but it is a dark blood color. It is a creme finish and is perfecto for anyone that wants to go really dark but thinks black is to harsh.

4. WetnWild's Under Your Spell is a dark burgundy color. It is a black base with tons of red shimmer.

1. Revlon en 820 Stormy es un hermoso taupe grisáseo que me hace sonreir cuando miro mis uñas, es uno de mis favoritos.

2. Bettina en 197 es un gris cremoso con un pequeño toque de azul. Todos deberías tener un gris así en su colección.

3. Orly Naughty es un color muy unico que siempre llama la atención. Puede lucir negro de primera instancia pero en realidad es un color como sangre oscura. Tiene un acabado cremoso y es perfecto para todo aquel que quiere un color oscuro pero piense que negro es demasiado drástico.

4. WetnWild Under Your Spell es un color vino oscuro. Es una base negra con brillos rojos.

Finally, I would also suggest a nice navy blue which as I was searching my collection I realized I don't have. I know what I'm picking up on my next Walgreens haul!

Violet Breeze Nails

Excuse the messiness! / Disculpen que no pude limpiarlas!

I forgot how college sucks all my time away. This was my first full week back at college since our first day was last wednesday and between all the work, cooking, band practice and working out I have found it a bit hard to find time for anything else. Since I have been short on time I wanted to try out something easy to do on my nails and decided for this technique I saw in Lindsey's Neverland Nail Blog. It is a fan brush gradient and she has a complete step-by-step over on her blog. I hope you like my take on it.

Se me olvidaba como la universidad me quita todo el tiempo. Esta fue mi primera semana completa de vuelta a la uni ya que la semana pasada empezamos miércoles y entre todo el trabajo, cocinar, práctica de banda y los ejercicios no he logrado encontrar mucho tiempo para algo mas. Como no he tenido mucho tiempo quise hacer algo fácil en mis uñas y me decidí en utilizar esta técnica que vi en el blog Neverland Nail de Lindsey. Es una técnica utilizando una brocha de abanico y en su blog pueden encontrar un tutorial paso a paso. Espero que les guste mi interpretación de esta técnica.

Pinky Purple Princess Nails

As promised I deliver a new nail art tutorial. Some pinky-purple princess nails. I picked up this new Wet n Wild purple polish and knew it would be used for my next look, I had wanted to use this technique for a while also, so I though, no better time than the present. I really wanted to pair the purple with a pink and when I realized it would look really girl I figured I’d take it all the way with some glitter. I hope this will be useful to you all and let me know if you try out my hairspray as glitter glue method.

Lo prometido es deuda y con este tutorial yo saldo la mía. Unas uñas rositas y violeta de princesa. Obtuve este esmalte violeta de Wet n Wild hace poco y sabía que lo tendría que utilizar para mi próximo diseño, también quería utilizar esta técnica por un tiempo y me entendí que no hay mejor tiempo que el presente. Quise combinar el violeta con un rosa y cuando me percaté que se vería muy de niña escogí llevarlo a otro nivel con un poco de brillos. Espero que les sirva de algo y que me dejen saber si intentan mi método de usar fijador de cabello como adhesivo para brillos.


What I used / Lo sue utilizé:

From Left to Right / De Izquierda a Derecha:

1. Sponge / Esponja

2. Wet n Wild 213C On a Trip

3. Bettina Coton Candy

4. Glitter

5. Suave Hairspray / Fijador de Cabello 

     (not in picture / no está en la foto)

Step 1 - Base Coat

Step 2 - Take your piece of sponge and paint the colors onto it in the proportion or order that you wish them to appear. You can use as many colors as you wish.

Step 3 - Press the sponge lightly onto the nail.

Step 4 - Do the same on the rest of the nails, then repeat more coats until they appear opaque.

Step 5 - When nail are dry to touch pick up some glitter with you finger and place it on the tip of your nail over most of the pink part.

Step 6 - Spray some hairspray holding it about a feet away from you nail, this will make sure the glitter stays put.

Step 7 - Apply a top coat to set it all in.

Paso 1 - Base

Paso 2 - Toma tu pedazo de esponja y pinta los colores en esta en la proporción y orden que deseas que aparezcan. Puedes utilizar cuantos colores desees.

Paso 3 - Presiona la esponja sobre la uña.

Paso 4 - Repita en el resto de las uñas cuantas capas necesarias para que luzca opaco.

Paso 5 - Cuando las uñas estén secan recoge un poco de brillos con tu dedo y aplique a la punta de la uña sobre la mayoría de la parte rosa.

Paso 6 - Aplique fijador de cabello a su uña, de una distancia de por lo menos un pie, para fijar los brillos.

Paso 7 - Aplique una capa final para fijarlo todo.

My Makeup Travel Bag

For a lot of us summer comes hand in hand with summer trips. I took a small vacation a little while ago to Ohio and as I was packing the hardest thing for me to pack was my makeup. I mean, for most of us girls packing is never easy but I had such a hard time picking what makeup to take without taking too much, and I think I probably still overdid it a bit. I though that showing you what I took would help some of you out when you are packing that makeup travel bag.

Para muchos de nosotros el verano viene acompañado de viajes, sean locales o internacionales. Gosh! After I put it on a list it really seems like too much! I’ll explain why I chose some of these products. The ecotools kabuki brush is not the only brush I travel with ( I also take the Mrs. Bunny set from Sigma) but I keep this one in the bag for those cases where you have to take the bag and run out the door. I take these three blushes because I find that carrying a nice pinky blush, a coral and a nude works for most neutral looks and the bronzer is my favorite for contouring. Within these two mascaras I have a natural look and combining them, a glamorous look to my eyelashes. These lipstick and lip glosses make for  various looks depending how I combine them and I always like to have the option of one bright lip color. Lastly, all of the eyeshadows work well together so I can get various different but fairly neutral looks. But does it fit in my travel bag from Clinique?

Dios mío! Después de poner todo esto en una lista si que me parece demasiado! Explicaré porque escogí alguno de estos productos. La brucha de ecotools no es la única brucha que llevo conmigo (también llevo el Mrs. Bunny set de Sigma) pero mantengo esta en la bolsa para cuando tienes que agarrar el maquillaje e irte. Llevo estos ‘blushes’ porque encuentro que un rosita, un coral y un color mas neutral trabajan bien con más colores de sombras y el bronceador es my favorito para darle forma a la cara. Con estas dos mascaras tengo un ‘look’ natural y uno mas glamoroso para mis pestañas. Los pintalabios y brillos me proveen muchos colores de los que escoger depende de como los combine y siempre me gusta llevar por lo menos un color brillante. Por último, todas las sombras trabajan bien combinadas entre sí para darme muchas opciones de ‘looks’ bastante neutrales. Espero les haya ayudado! Pero todo esto cabe en la bolsa de Clinique?
